Baccalaureate Service and Reception Information

Class of 2022

As part of the Baccalaureate Service, Ripon Sober Grad likes to gift Bibles to the participating Seniors.  Volunteers bookmark readings that are significant to young adults venturing into adulthood. The idea is that they will be able to turn to their Bible when in need of guidance or during challenging moments.

Who?

Seniors and their Families/Special Guests

What?

Baccalaureate is a special event for Senior's and their families. It is a non-denominational service, meaning all religions and walks of faith are invited to participate. The service is student-organized sponsored by Ripon Sober Grad. As a class, students will nominate a guest speaker, usually a teacher, to give a speech honoring the class and leaving them with words of wisdom as they travel into their next chapter. A student elected class representative will give a speech reflecting on their years in high school, and personal growth. There is typically a musical performance by a fellow graduating classmate.

Attire to wear: Seniors usually dress in their "Sunday's best" outfit and graduation gowns. As mentioned at the Senior Assembly, take those gowns out of their packaging now so you may wear them at the service. Graduation gowns are required, caps will not be worn.

What to expect at the reception: Following the service RHS Seniors and their families are invited to mingle and enjoy desserts and refreshments.
